I’m new to having heroes, I just really started to find them late in 2001.

JOHN LENNON
1940 - 1980 The man, the legend and my hero! The music, the message and the spirit. All these, and so much more, made up the great man. He impacted music as well as the world around him. He certainly wasn't perfect, he was only John. And that's why I love him.

VIRGINIA WOOLF & CHARLOTTE MEW

Women Writers of the Modernist Movement: They faced insanity, sexism, and a slew of personal demons to become the writer they were. Icons of personal strength and talent. They symbolise female power in a male dominated area. Who else should an aspiring writer, like myself, be looking up to? |

ANI DIFRANCO

Poet, Songstress, Feminist For attempting to give and find voice. For living and being and succeeding. For talent and effort and personality. For these reasons and more.
BATMAN & SUPERMAN
One's the Dark Knight and the other the Man of Steel. Sounds like a pair of heroes to me. Ever notice the difference between heroes and villains?? Tights!
BRIAN KINNEY
From Queer as Folk Epitome of 'Beautiful and Flawed'. Teacher in the life lessons that you should live with "No apologies, No regrets" and never be ashamed of who and what you are. |
THE LONE GUNMEN

Richard 'Ringo' Langly, Melvin Frohike & John Fitzgerald Byers from both The X-Files & The Lone Gunmen Series
These three don't fit the profile of a A-typical hero; but it's all about how you act and who you really are deep down. It's silly I'm sure, but it;s the influence of these three characters that makes me want to change the world. They believed in fighting the good fight and looking out for the little guy 'because sometimes they win'.
HARLEY QUINN & THE JOKER
Originally from: Batman:The Animated Series Okay...I know that the pair is as far away from "heroes" as you can get, in fact by definition they are villains, but I have a soft spot for them. Maybe I just have a thing for crazy clowns and psychopathic killers...but I say it's the sympathy for the devil syndrome. I mean, sure they're insane and dangerous, and twisted, and strange...but wait...so I am! teehee so long live the Crown Prince of Crime and his Jester Princess! Who says you need sanity anyway!?
BONNIE & CLYDE
Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker I know that they are categorised as outlaws, but to me they belong in that grey area. One only needs to look at their true motives and young love to see that. Anyone who can believe in love whole heatedly and not fear it deserves credit for it. |

DANA SCULLY

Special Agent Dana K. Scully from The X-Files. Another hero found in a fictional character, but she's Smart, Strong and still Sexy. Everything a women should strive to be. I guess she's more like an idol then a hero, but she still has an impact, of sorts, on me. If I could be half of what she is, even for a fictional character, I would be happy. |
MARILYN MONROE

Norma Jean She just wanted to be happy and loved. I can respect that.
UNCLE VIC
Vic Grassi from: Queer as Folk Everyone needs a fabulous gay uncle who's been through it all and still loves life and you. Wise and witty, fabulous and fun, Ballsy and brave. Everyone needs to know an Uncle Vic |
